Our core mission is to promote people’s independence where possible by offering our assessment services, our bespoke tuition services and using our extensive range of adaptations and vehicle types to endeavour to overcome deficits.
At DAID, we truly value and recognise the importance of driving to a person’s daily life and wellbeing which serves as a ‘lifeline’. We strive to empower the privilege of driving to promote independence for everyone, to the best of our ability.
We are a highly skilled, qualified and experienced team being the sole contracted partner for the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) having the position of incumbent supplier for all of IWA’s Dublin based driving services (assessments / tuition / rehabilitation) at their headquarters, located in Clontarf, Dublin 3.
Additionally, we are the preferred and only service delivery provider for all of the driving services to the main and largest rehabilitation hospital in the country; the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin (as sub-contracted by the IWA).
We provide the full driving service outright at the new NRH campus working within the Occupational Therapy Department in partnership with the onsite consultants, GP’s and OT’s, covering all the inpatient and outpatient programmes.
Managing such high profile and specialised engagements illustrates our code of conduct, our professionalism and our devotion to excellent customer service.
Our assessors have been trained as On Road Driving Assessors (ORDA’s) and are fully qualified Road Safety Authority (RSA) Approved Driving Instructors (ADI’s) as listed on the RSA ADI register. In addition to these qualifications, we have been ‘Quality Approved’ by the RSA for cars and motorcycles. We have attained the Certificate in ‘Road Safety, Mobility and Health’ from the National Office for Traffic Medicine (NOTM) at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) and regularly participate in Clinical updates and research seminars for the NOTM, of which we are an active community member.
Over the years, having forged close working relationships with the Road Safety Authority, the National Office for Traffic Medicine, the Irish Wheelchair Association & the National Rehabilitation Hospital, this has enabled us to achieve a great deal of exposure within this domain and a wealth of experience which we proudly provide in turn to our clients, which serves as a conduit in helping our client base realise their independence goals.
